If you are reading this article, it means you have already taken the first step towards your dream of becoming an engineer. The next step is to crack the JEE Main and get your rank. To crack the Joint Entrance Examination, you must practice well. The best way to practice for this exam is by repeatedly solving the previous year’s questions.

However, if you’ve recently decided to appear for the JEE (Main) test or are preparing to appear for it soon, you might be a little apprehensive about your chances of qualifying and getting into an institute of your choice. The fear of losing out on your dream college because of low JEE Main rank is shared among all students who take this test.

Amongst this dilemma, it is common for parents to put a lot of pressure on their children to do well in their final school exams, as this will supposedly have a direct bearing on the type of college or professional degree they can go on to get afterwards. There is also the assumption that students who have good marks are automatically considered more employable and get priority when it comes to getting selected at specific colleges or jobs in general.

Nevertheless, while this may be true in some cases, it does not necessarily mean that you must do well in your 12th standard board exams so that you can get into an engineering college and study to become an engineer. If you’re someone who is confused about your preparation or scared about how class 12 marks affect your JEE Main Rank, we will help you here. Well, let’s break the news to you. Even if you have not done so well in class 12, there is no reason to worry.

In no way does your performance in class 12 affect your chances of qualifying for JEE Mains.

Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union HRD Minister, announced that the Joint Admission Board would relax the eligibility criteria for the JEE Advanced exam. He revealed that the candidates who have passed their class XII examinations would no longer be eligible for admissions based on their grade marks in class XII.

New Criteria for Selection:

Marks obtained in class 12 do not count toward JEE Main ranking. The entrance exam scores will be used to determine students’ ranks. Students who pass JEE-Advanced will be eligible for admission, regardless of their grade in class 12.

Nevertheless, to gain admission to IITs, NITs, and CFTIs, candidates must score well in the class 12 board exam. To qualify, candidates must have at least a 75 per cent score in their exam, and for people from SCs and STs, a 65 per cent score is a must. Applicants must also be in the top 20% of their class to be considered for admission.

Plan of Action:

Now, it is crucial to understand that even if you have not done well in your final exams, there is no reason to lose hope. Is there any merit to this statement? Obviously, the answer is yes! All you need to do is put in the necessary work, plan, and preparation.
