NEET 2023 Overview

The NEET, or National Eligibility Entrance Test, is one of the most anticipated exams for all aspiring medical professionals. It tests the eligibility and skill of a student in the subjects of biology, physics, and chemistry. The final outcome of the test results determines whether they have the cut-off for entering different medical institutes all over India. 

The eligibility test is for entering courses like MBBS, BDS, and Ayush. The NEET 2023 is a pen and paper based exam i.e., offline mode. 

It is conducted in 13 languages and has the same syllabus as 2022.

NEET-UG 2023 Tentative Schedule

There has been no official information released on the schedule of the NEET exam, but the predicted outlay of the schedule can be as follows:

  • The application form for NEET 2023 will be rolled out in the first week of April 2023.
  • The correction window for the application form will be tentatively released in April 2023.
  • Hall tickets are supposed to be released in the third week of April 2023.
  • The exam date is tentatively scheduled for May 7, 2023. 
  • The result will be released in the last week of June 2023.

NEET UG 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Here are the eligibility criteria for applying to NEET 2023:

  • The minimum age requirement for attempting NEET 2023, should be 17 years before December 2023. Therefore, to meet the minimum age requirement, the candidate must be born on or after December 31, 2006. As far as NEET 2023 is concerned, there is no upper age limit.
  • Applicants of the general category should have their 12th based on subjects physics, chemistry, biology and english. The certificate should be from a recognized board and should also have a minimum of 50% marks in case of general category. The OBC category will require 45% and the SC, ST should have a minimum of 40%.
  • Students must be Indian, NRIs, Foreign Nationals,OCIs, or PIOs.

NEET UG 2023 Exam Pattern

The NEET UG 2023 Exam Pattern is as follows:

  • The NEET exam pattern will be in offline mode, i.e., in pen and paper mode.
  • The exam will last for three hours and have a total of 200 questions, of which 180 are expected to be answered. The test comes to a total score of 720.

Multichoice questions will be asked on the exam. The subject wise division of the number of questions will be:Physics: 15, Chemistry Section A:35, Chemistry Section B:15 , Botany:35

  • The mark distribution is 4 marks for each question, one mark deducted for each wrong answer, and no marks will be awarded for non-attempted questions.
  • The exam is for 3 hours and 20 minutes. 
  • The medium of the exam will be 13 languages; English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Punjabi.

NEET 2023 Application Form

The NEET application for the 2023 schedule will be available on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. The application is supposed to be available the first week of April.

Steps to Fill NEET 2023 Application Form

Here are the steps to be followed for applying to NEET 2023:

  • The first step is to visit the official website of NTA NEET 2023, and then click on the new registration tab. 
  • A registration form opens up where you have to enter in the basic information related to your name, age, date of birth, email address and contact number.
  • Once the registration is done, you will be getting your login credentials and password.
  • Once you get the credentials, you can log on and get access to the NEET 2023 application form and start applying for the exam. Personal information, academic details, medium of examination, and the examination center has to be entered. 
  • The next step is to enter the academic certificates, thumb impressions, passport size photographs, signature, etc in PDF and JPG formats. 
  • Finally you can pay up the said examination fee via UPI, Credit Card, Debit Card or through Net Banking.
