JEE and NEET are two of India’s most popular exams. Both exams are national exams that enroll students in undergraduate programs, however, they are in distinct subjects. Both JEE and NEET are regarded as difficult exams since students from all across the country take them in order to gain a spot in the college of their choice. What distinguishes these two exams if they sound so similar? Well, if you dig deeper, you’ll see a significant difference, and we are not talking about the difficulty level here; we’re talking about shaping one’s career and establishing the groundwork for it. Here, we’ll compare IIT JEE and NEET to see which one is easier.

All about IIT JEE

The IIT JEE is a national-level common entrance exam for students interested in engineering careers. JEE Mains and JEE Advanced are the two stages of the test. The exam is held for 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IITs, and 19 GFTIs’ admissions processes.

The JEE Mains exam is for admissions to government-supported technical colleges like NITs and IITs, whilst the JEE Advanced exam is primarily for IIT admissions. To take the JEE Advanced exam, students must first pass the JEE Mains.

Except for the exam’s conducting body and the fact that JEE Mains is held in sessions, both tests are interconnected. Students who pass the JEE Mains test are eligible to take the JEE Advanced exam. To be eligible for JEE Mains, a candidate must have passed or be scheduled to take the 12th test in the same year.

All about NEET

The All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), formerly known as the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), is an entrance exam for medical and dental colleges in India.

The test was previously conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), an independent, autonomous, and self-sustaining premier testing organisation. Now it’s been conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). Every year in May, the test, which offers 90,000 seats in India’s MBBS and BDS colleges, is held.

An applicant who desires to pursue medical studies must have taken and passed Chemistry, Physics and Biology/Biotechnology as obligatory topics in grades 10 and 12. The candidate must present their passing certificate during the counselling round. Mathematics marks are not considered in the NEET-undergraduate test (NEET-UG).

NTA also offers NEET post-graduation (NEET-PG), an eligibility-cum-ranking test mandated as the sole entrance examination for admission to several MD/MS and PG diploma degrees, in addition to undergraduate programs.

The examination lasts three hours and includes 180 questions. The three components of the exam paper are chemistry, physics and biology (Botany and Zoology). NTA announces the counselling process as soon as the NEET results are released. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) website publishes the NEET counselling schedule.

Difference between IIT JEE and NEET

Both the IIT JEE and the NEET are popular and difficult national admission tests. One of the most important differences between the two tests is the path to achievement. JEE will get you into one of India’s top universities, whilst NEET will get you into a medical school.

Another distinction is that JEE gives greater weight to Math, whilst NEET gives it to Biology.

Other distinctions include the allocation of marks by subject, the regularity with which tests are held throughout the year, and the exam pattern.

JEE vs. NEET- Which is easier to crack?

Both JEE Mains and NEET are difficult exams to pass. Because these exams are held once a year and there are a limited number of seats available, passing them becomes more difficult. Furthermore, medical schools have a far smaller number of places than engineering schools. As a result, even if the questions are easier in NEET than in JEE Main, it makes the exam more competitive and adds another level of difficulty to NEET.

However, if we consider the question, “which is one easier, the IIT JEE or NEET?” The answers differ from different perspectives. The following is a list of the papers in order of difficulty:

Least Difficult – JEE Mains

Difficult – NEET

Most Difficult – JEE Advanced

However, if you identified which one is easier- IIT JEE or NEET and if you already have a specific career route in mind, none of this matters. In that scenario, you must complete the required paper for that career, regardless of difficulty.

Conclusion

The IIT JEE is an entrance exam for engineering students who want to attend top engineering colleges. NEET is a common medical admission exam for medical students. It’s difficult to compare the two exams. According to students who have passed both JEE and NEET, JEE is slightly more difficult on paper than NEET. However, due to the high level of competition in NEET, getting into a good medical college is challenging.

You can clear the corresponding goal test – IIT JEE or NEET – once you understood which one is easier, you can decide which one you want to study – engineering or medicine – with the correct kind of preparation and assistance.
