CMC Vellore MBBS Highlights 2025

The MBBS course at CMC Vellore is an undergraduate medical course of four and a half years duration. Subsequently, you are required to complete one year of compulsory rotating medical internship as per the guidelines of the National Medical Commission. The foundation course is followed by competency-based components spread over three phases-

• Phase I – Pre-Clinical Phase (13 months): It includes the basic sciences, Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry, followed by an introduction to Community Medicine, Humanities and Professional Development. Clinical rotations begin after Phase I.
• Phase II – Para-Clinical phase (12 months): At the end of this phase an assessment is done in Pharmacology, Pathology and Microbiology.
• Phase III (13 months): At the end of this phase you will be assessed on Forensic Medicine and Community Medicine.

CMC Vellore MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2025

1. Age Criterion: You should have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or should complete this age on or before 31st December 2025.   
2. Educational Qualification: As per the directives of the State Govt. of Tamil Nadu and the guidelines of Dr. M.G.R Medical University, to qualify for admission to the CMC Vellore MBBS program 2025, you should have passed the qualifying exam equivalent to the 10+2 Higher Secondary level which is of 12 years of study, and in the final two years you should have taken up the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology with English.
3. Academic Score: In the afore-mentioned qualifying exam, you should have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually as well as obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany and Zoology taken together)/Biotechnology. (40% aggregate is accepted for BC, MBC, SC/ST candidates).

CMC Vellore MBBS Admission cutoffs 2025

The rank in the NEET-UG 2025 is an important eligibility criterion for admission to CMC Vellore MBBS admission.

Management Quota: 50% of the seats will be filled up by the management. Selections for this quota are based on three broad categories – Two seats for open category, 38 seats for Minority Network, and 10 seats for CMC Vellore Staff quota, all of which is based on the rank obtained in NEET (UG).

Government Quota:  50% of the seats will be filled up by the State Govt. from the state merit list of the NEET exam in the following manner: 

(i) 30% by the State Govt. as per its reservation policy strictly in accordance with the NEET merit list 

(ii) 20% by the State Govt. candidates belonging to the christian minority from the state strictly in accordance with the NEET merit list. Christian students can also apply to be considered under the Minority Network category (refer to the official prospectus for details).

How to Apply for CMC Vellore MBBS Admissions 2025

Applications should be submitted online at the official website

Quick Guide to Apply–

1. Register with a valid Email ID
2. Upload your recent passport size colour photo taken after 1st February 2025 on a light background, in JPEG format not exceeding 80 KB (Width of 150 pixels, Height of 150 pixels)
3. Upload your scanned signature in JPEG format not exceeding 50 KB (Width of 150 pixels, Height of 50 pixels).
4. Pay the application fee
5. Take a print out of the completed application form and the application confirmation page for your reference (the hard copy of your application form should not be sent to the Registrar’s Office.)
6. If the payment is made by challan, send the original ICICI challan along with any additional necessary enclosures, if any, to the Office of the Registrar, CMC, Vellore 632002 by the deadline.

Within one week of final submission of the online application, you will receive an acknowledgement via email and SMS. If not received, check with the registrar’s office by sending an email to registrar@cmcvellore.ac.in, quoting your temporary login ID number.

Hall Ticket: Log in with your application number, which is the ‘username’ and your date of birth as the ‘password’ to download your hall ticket from the official website.

Application Fee for CMC Vellore MBBS Admissions 2025

The application fee (not refundable) includes a basic administrative fee of Rs.1200/- plus a registration fee of Rs. 500/-. [For additional courses like Nursing or Allied Health Sciences, the application fee is an extra Rs. 500 per course.]

Mode of payment: Online payment using Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking or as a Challan at no extra cost at any branch of ICICI bank in India.
